Welcome to the MyTeardrop Wiki's Manual Of Style! The MyTeardrop Wiki should always be consistent in organization and design, and no page should stick out amongst the others. Which is why this manual has been established.

Language[]

On this wiki, American English is used, since it is the language that used in the game. This means using American spellings. So you should avoid using British/Australian English spellings like the addition of a "u" in words, such as "humour", "colour", "favour" and "labour". This is absent in American English, so the "u" in the "or" suffix is dropped. Some terms, such as "aeroplane" in British English and Australian English, are transferred in American English as "airplane". Also, American English uses commas to separate thousands and a decimal point to separate units from tenths, for example: "3,737" or "3.7".

Grammar[]

On this wiki, you should always try to use the best grammar and spelling you can. If English isn’t your first language, it’s okay. You can use spell/grammar checkers online before you publish an edit. And make sure to use American English grammar rules.

Wording[]

Wording should always be in a formal manner, your wording should never be biased, political, or inappropriate, and should always be at a neutral standpoint. This means you should avoid using swear words or slang. (However, the usage of slang and light swearing is okay in discussions).

Images[]

Images placed in articles should be taken from official MyTeardrop media, and should be ripped from the game, or any other image that shows content relevant to the page or topic. When adding images, be aware that fanon images and characters are not allowed to be placed in articles. This counts as breaking a rule; in most cases, it is vandalism, and you may receive a warning or block. To have an "acceptable" image in an article, they have to meet at least one of these requirements:

  1. Not be heavily edited (cropping to fix an image is okay)
  2. Don't contain watermarks or black bars (like "bandicam.com" near the top of images)
  3. Be a shot from official MyTeardrop-related media
  4. Be of canon info
  5. Have acceptable quality (heavily compressed, pixelated, blurred, or poorly cropped images are not allowed)

If you add images in violation of these rules to a page, they will most likely be removed. Be aware that these images are not outright banned on the wiki; they are not allowed on mainspace articles. You can still upload them and use them in your user pages, blogs, or other user-generated content. However the images you choose to use in your user-generated content should not violate FANDOM's ToS. This means political images, gore, NSFW, or racist images.

Trivia[]

Trivia sections should always contain information that is canon and not that important. You should not put theorized information, or rumors. Non-canon content should not be referenced in trivias, unless the trivia references it to say "Non-canon media was the first time character appeared"
